pEPR
What is pEPR?
pEPR (or Extended Producer Responsibilitity for packaging) is a UK-wide system that makes the businesses that put packaging on the market pay the full cost of dealing with that packaging once people throw it away. This includes the collection, sorting, recycling and disposal. This means that affected organisations must track and report their packaging data and then pay fees (administered through the scheme) based on what they place on the market, with the aim of encouraging packaging that’s easier to recycle over time.
